Is it possible to build a simple go cart out of car parts?

After I build the frame, would i be able to build the rest (steering, rear axle, centrifugal clutch, brakes system, gas pedal system, etc) from an old car sitting in the trees? If I took all the parts from the car? I plan on using an auger engine or maybe an old lawnmower or dirtbike engine.|||Most of the parts would be way too heavy duty and just plain too heavy for the go-kart. Remember that most karts will weigh 100-200 pounds and a car will be 20 times that heavy.|||there are certain parts that you would find very valuable, but really most likely its not worth the trouble to use a lot of things you might be tempted to. many parts are simply too heavy or large to work well and some are not designed well for what you may build. when building your first kart keep it VERY simple. simple brakes, axel, frame, suspension etc. some build big karts out of things like old VW bugs and such, use the frame and everything. but for a little kart you will likely want to make/buy most stuff.

are some places to look. used parts are extremely valuable often.

random stuff like bolts, clips, switches, bushings, joints etc is what i often use from old cars on karts. good luck with your project, ive built a few and its very rewarding often.
