is there anyway to put another cars engine transmission and other major parts in another car. like lets say i got a corvette or a r8 engine and all and put the parts in like a Taurus or a g6 or something! and if possible were can i get the engine and stuff?!?! Thanks!|||There are of course physical limits of how much of anything you can fit into a given space but you can customize a vehicle in all sorts of ways limited only by your imagination. Well that and you should take safety into consideration. Doing modifications like this is usually no small matter and would usually require a well stocked shop and more.|||A lot of people think of the same thing. Every one is looking to get as mush HP out of there engine and we always come to a wall. "Engine Swaps" seems to be the best way to encrease HP per coast for so many cars. Just like what you are thinking... the main problem is bolting the engine to the transmission. Or the engine and the original matching transmission to support mounts in the engine bay. If you have access to a machine shop it will cut down on coast. If not you would have to get a machine shop to do a custom fab just for you and that will coast too much money. Luckily a lot of odd engine swaps have become routine over the last few years and many places offer how to guides and conversion kits for such things. For example putting a mustang V8 engine into a tiny Mazda Miata, a chevy V8 engine into any Porshe 911 or 911 or 914... It's all a matter of space, metal fabrication and time.|||Short answer...Yes
Long answer...Maybe. Anything can be done for a price, lets say for example you did want to put Chevy Corvette drive train into a Ford Taurus, the major problem is that you are trying to take a front wheel drive car, and put rear wheel drive parts into it, BIG $$$$ BIG work!! But say you have a Porsche motor sitting around, and an old style VW beetle sitting around, now you have a project that is do able. Best to keep your swaps with the engine and tranny in the same place as they started.|||You can but its pretty much all custom work since manufactures don't make their parts compatible with other manufacturers.
You can get parts from the dealership, auto parts stores, and if its older parts from a salvage yard (junk yard). All the adapters you would have to make.|||it's possible, if it fits. allot of people put different engines in different cars to beef them up a bit, but the parts have to fit under the hood in order for it to work
