CAR parts :)?

hmm, i need all the parts of a car, and please explain what is the use of each. please? :))

Thanks so much! :)|||'Mags' and 'rims'? They're the wheels! They have tires on 'em.

They're the last link from the engine to the pavement that make the car go.

Used to be cars came with stamped steel wheels, and had hubcaps or wheel covers (big flat dish like things) that snapped onto them to make them look nicer. You could buy aftermarket 'mags', or magnesium wheels. They weigh less making the car (negligibly) faster, but their main selling point is that they're much better looking.

Even though 'mag' is short for magnesium, the term is used generically and they're usually made from an alloy of aluminum or magnesium or a mixture of both. Magnesium is a white metal similar to aluminum, but stronger and lighter weight and more expensive.

Mags are sometimes called 'alloys', and today most cars are sold with them. Some cars still come with stamped steel wheels, but they'd be the lower end or more inexpensive models.

I have a neighbor with a Scion xB, and it has stamped steel wheels with a big plastic wheel covers on them. My son has a Honda Civic that's like that also, but the wheel covers are smaller. We have a Honda CR-V and it has stamped steel wheels, but no wheel covers. It does have hub caps, small chromed plastic ones, maybe 3 inches across that attach to the very middle of the wheel to hide the hub of the part the wheel attaches to.

'Rim(s)' is just another term for wheel(s). Mags cost considerably more than steel wheels, anywhere from $80 to over $500 each. They're available in dozens or even hundreds of styles. They're easily distinguished as they're solid metal, look good and have no plastic trim pieces (ie wheel covers) on them.

"Tools"? A tool is something that typically provides a mechanical advantage in accomplishing a task or enables the accomplishment of a task not otherwise possible.

At dinner time you use your knife and fork and spoon as tools to help you eat. A squirrel will use a rock as a tool to help him break open a nut.

A screwdriver is a tool used to tighten / remove screws. A wrench is a tool used to tighten / remove nuts or bolts. A lug wrench is a tool used to remove the lug nuts or lug bolts that hold car wheels in place. (A lug nut or lug bolt has a tapered conical mating surface so that it centers itself on the hole it goes through (on the wheel), as well as making it harder to unscrew, so it won't spin off by itself.)|||Let me start this one off!

Steering wheel - a noun; a wheel shaped piece (plastic usually!) connected to the steering column (on the interior of the car) used to steer the car in the left or right direction! =)|||The engine - it makes the car move..
