Are car parts made for cars that are no longer being made?

For example, I saw a 2006 Pontiac GTO and thought about purchasing one but if it breaks down can it get fixed or if I need a car part will I be able to get it? Thanks.

P.S. I know nothing about cars.|||yes, it's called the aftermarket, you can get mos parts from any parts store. but for the unusual pieces you may have to go to a recycling yard to get what you need|||try looking for parts from the orignal line of GTO. THAT is a challenge.

|||you can usually go to the junk yard and get parts there yourself cheaper than from a mechanic.

many cars have the same base car and just have different molds on top.|||Im from england and I know also in U S there are plenty of places you can get pattern parts which are up to a very high standard and there is always EBAY|||You will not have a problem finding parts for that at all and you can even get performance parts if stock ones break they are sometimes cheaper|||GM will supply parts for at least 10 years after the date of manufacture. No Worries.|||There still making parts for old muscle cars. There will always be parts|||You will be able to get parts for a Pontiac forever.
