What can I use to clean car parts? Book calls for neutral mineral spirits, what is equal to this?

The car has very small, gunk filled holes that HAVE to be cleaned out. The part is aluminium so many cleaners cannot be used. Car must have this done in order to pass inspection but the regular cleaners just seem to make it worse.|||I use cheap mineral spirits from Walmart with a airsprayer hooked up to my air compressor. You can also use brake parts cleaner that is safe on all parts. Does the car have gunk filled holes or parts on the car. What parts need cleaning. Go ahead and e-mail me. I'm replacing a couple of heads on my Camaro, and boy is it a messy job.|||Use car cleaning waxes...which would be available in in every car store|||kerosene is about the same, milder on the hands, lacquer thinner is much stronger, put a spot on the part wait a few minutes to see what it does, if it's ok! then continue|||Depending on the parts that you are cleaning but by far the best degreaser is a product put out by castrol then use water to rinse. Then use white spirits and thoroughly dry with compressed air and wrap individual parts in glad wrap if critical parts or rags if say brake or suspension parts.
