I took my car to a honda dealership. They want $400 to fix a master switch in a 96' Honda accord.


seems outrageous.





I am going to order the part from online. Know a good place to order it?





help!|||Here are three. There are dozens more. Just as an FYI if they're replacing the complete switch assembly the price for the part alone is about $150. Add a few hours labor to disassemble your steering column to get to the wiring and $400 might actually be a very fair price. Get some estimates at an independent garage who usually are a bit cheaper than a dealer.|||I'm not sure what a "master switch" is but many parts are only available through authorized Honda dealers. You may not be able to buy this part from an independent parts supplier.





It may not be the price of the switch that is your problem, it may be the high cost of labor the dealership is charging you to install the switch.





Ask the Service Adviser at the Honda dealer to give you the repair estimate in writing including the itemized cost of parts and labor.
